ACTIVITIES - Compagnia della Rancia
Since 1988 Compagnia della Rancia is the main theatre company in Italy specialising in the production of musicals. It is directed by Saverio Marconi, and has contributed to the spread of the genre by translating into Italian the most famous international shows like Cats, A Chorus Line and Jesus Christ Superstar.
In 1997 “Grease”, the first long-running Italian show, broke all records in terms of audience numbers and takings.
The year 2003 marked the start of the collaboration with the ForumNet Group for the production of the musical Pinocchio and the construction of the Teatro Repower.
Today Compagnia della Rancia is part of the Group and has developed a know-how in every phase in the production process of a show: management of theatre spaces, marketing and communication, sponsorship, box office and merchandising services. Aside from production it completes its offer with educational programmes: school projects, internships and professional laboratories.
Compagnia della Rancia has organised two international tours with “Pinocchio” (Seoul 2009 and New York 2010); its artistic quality has been acknowledged through numerous awards, including “Biglietti d’Oro - Agis” and the ETI Award, “Olimpici del Teatro.”
